PASTOR: Reverend Peter Sarnicki O.F.M. Conv.

Father Peter

Father Peter Sarnicki was born on August 28, 1968 in Przemysl, in Southeastern Poland. He graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1986. After high school, he entered the Franciscan order. There he entered the Franciscan Seminary in Krakow. He was ordained in 1994. For two years he served as an associate at Blessed Holy Mother Sanctuary in Rychwald near Zywiec, Poland. Afterwards he was a pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Bratislava, Slowakia for seven years. He then moved to Levoca, for one year as a guardian for the Franciscan community there. In 2004 he came to St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish in Rockford, first as an Associate and then was named Pastor in 2005. On July 1, 2011, Father Peter became the new Pastor of St. Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin, Illinois.

Reverend Dariusz (Darek) Barna O.F.M. Conv.

Fr Darek

Father Darek (Dariusz) Barna was born on January 16, 1974 in Legnica,Poland. He attended a Franciscan Minor Seminary in this city and after graduation Father Darek joined the Order Friars Minor Conventual (Franciscans) in Krakow, Poland in 1993. After the Novitiate, he studied Philosophy and Theology in Major Seminary in Krakow from 1994-2000. Father Darek was ordained on May 27, 2000. For the next two years he continued his graduate studies at Pontificial Academy in Krakow (University of John Paul the II) studying Franciscan Spirituality and Journalism. Father Darek worked then in Legnica in 2002-2003, Horyniec Zdrój in 2003-2004 and arrived in the USA in 2004 to work for a Polish radio station Father Justin Rosary Hour. Father Darek moved to NYC to the parish of Most Holy Trinity in Brooklyn in 2007. For 5 months, Father Darek served the hispanic community in St. Peter and Paul Parish in Rockford, IL while the pastor was on vacation. Father has been at Saint Margaret Mary since December of 2009.

Reverend Peter Tymko O.F.M. Conv.

Father Peter Tymko

Father Peter Tymko was born on January 14, 1967 in Legnica, Poland. After graduation from High School in 1987, Fr. Peter joined the Order of Friars Minor Conventual (Franciscans) and studied at the Franciscan Seminary in Krakow. After the third grade he was transferred to Czechoslovakia and continued his studying at St. Charles University of Prague. Fr. Peter was ordained to the priesthood on February 12, 1994. Then he continued his ministry as a parochial vicar, pastor and guardian at several places in the Czech Republic (Opava, Brno, and Jihlava). In 2003 Fr. Peter went to Uganda and ministered for three years as a Franciscan missionary in the newly opened mission there. After that he returned to Poland and worked as a hospital Chaplain in Wroclaw, Poland as well as a Director of the Pastoral Center for English Speakers.

Fr. Peter arrived in the USA in 2008 and began his ministry in our Franciscan Parish in Chicopee, MA. After two years of ministry in New England he was transferred to Washington, DC and worked at The Catholic University of America in Campus Ministry as an Associate Chaplain for Graduate and Law School Students. Since September 1, 2011, Fr. Peter has been ministering here at St. Margaret Mary.

General Office Email

You will find the Parish Office Staff most helpful to you. Linda Settles is the Administrative Assistant to Father Peter and the Office Manager and is in the office Monday through Friday. Jo Anne Evans and Mary Brandt are in regularly but on a part-time basis. They can give you information about the parish, about sacraments, sending sacramental certificates, arranging Masses, arranging Funerals, calendaring of parish events and generally direct you to the area you need.
