2016 DIOCESAN APPEAL
Every year at the end of April, the Diocese of Rockford announces the Diocesan Appeal. This year’s theme of the appeal is God’s Mercy Leads Us. This theme was chosen because we are celebrating the Jubilee Year of God’s Mercy. As the Holy Father Francis tells us, we are not only the receivers of God’s mercy, but we should be the apostles of this beautiful gift from God. We should be merciful towards others and share the good news of God’s mercy with everyone... MORE...

New 4:30 PM Sunday Mass!
Every Sunday starting Sunday, September 4th!
In answer to parishioners who have a difficult time making one of our Sunday morning Masses, we will add a 4:30 PM Mass on Sundays starting the first weekend of September. We are not going to eliminate any Sunday morning Masses at this time.
NOVENA OF PRAYER - BEGINNING MONDAY. Following a week of violence across the United States and around the world, the Joyful Stewards of St. Margaret Mary invite you to join in a novena of prayer to heal the wounds and divisions afflicting our country and world. Our parish family, and all people of good will, are encouraged to join in the novena (nine days of prayer) that will run from Monday, July 18th - Thursday, July 26th by praying Francis of Assisi’s Prayer for Peace:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
FOCUS WEEKEND. One of our parishioners, Elizabeth Philipps, has accepted a position to be a full time missionary with FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students). Elizabeth is a graduate of our parish school, Marian Central and a recent graduate of Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. As a FOCUS missionary she will be working to meet and establish friendships with students, sharing her faith in order to bring them to Christ and His Church, and to build students up through Bible study and one-on-one mentorship in order to prepare them to live out their Catholic faith. Since 1998 FOCUS has grown to more than 500 missionaries reaching thousands of students on more than 100 campuses www.focus.org. Elizabeth is reaching out to our parishioners for prayer and financial support in this mission work and will be in the lobby after the Masses on July 23 and 24. Take a few minutes to stop after Mass and learn more about her call to this work and how you can join her as a mission partner. She can be reached at 815-347-2219 or via Email.

Sacrament from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM with closing prayers and Benediction.

YOU CAN HELP OUR HURTING WORLD!
“Reparation is a work destined to save society.”~ His Holiness Pope Pius IX
The people of our world are in pain; the bad choices being made show this. Evil exists. An act of Reparation is a prayer, devotion or sacrifice with the intent to repair the “sins of others”. JOIN US ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 5TH FROM 5-6 P.M. FOR AN HOUR OF REPARATION, in front of the Blessed Sacrament, during 1st Friday Adoration. God does not need us to add to His merits, but He wills to make use of us that He may increase ours. We are the soldiers of Christ! Your prayers are powerful! The weapons He has given us are Love, Forgiveness, Prayer and Reparation! We are being called to gather, to do what we can to “save our society”!
