Social Action

Sacraments

These various ministries deal with the care of the poor, the needy, the homeless, the aged, and uphold the value of life through social action and a pro-life stance. The heart of this ministry is God's call to the corporal works of mercy.

Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry

Interfaith Food Pantry
Our parish joins with other churches in the area to provide food for the needy. People are needed to staff and organize the two food pantries. St. Margaret Mary's weekend is usually the second weekend of the month, however, you are always welcome to drop off items to the cart in Bethany Lobby.

Meals-on-Wheels

Meals on Wheels
For three months out of the year, volunteers from Saint Margaret Mary Parish family deliver hot, nutritious lunches 5 days a week to homebound senior citizens in the community. More drivers are needed as well as a scheduler. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Lori Walnock via email at melori2@hotmail.com or phone 847-462-8249.

Pro-Life Committee
Pro-Life is committed to raising awareness in the parish about the beauty of the maturing pre-born baby. We financially support women who are pregnant and in need of clothing, medical care, or a place to live, and spiritually adopt pre-born babies and their parents with prayer support during Advent Season. For more information, please contact George & Helen Jost via email at helen_gallivanjost@yahoo.com or phone 847-658-8379.
