AREAS OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH
This Ministry Grouping supports the various ministries, which promote the spiritual development of the members of Saint Margaret Mary Parish family. It includes the ministries listed below.
Baptismal Preparation Sessions
Parents wishing their children to be baptized need to attend a Baptismal Preparation Session. Adults are needed as discussion group leaders and teachers of this instructional training. Training will be provided.
Bible Study
This group learns about the Bible and its many books, using the Little Rock Scripture program. Two eight-week sessions are held each year, one in the Fall and one in the Spring. A different book of the bible is selected for each eight-week session.
Charismatic Renewal
This prayer group meets to praise the Lord in a Charismatic style of prayer. They have experienced the Lord in a "Life in the Spirit Seminar." Charismatic prayer is open to the many movements of the Spirit in our lives.
Christ Renews His Parish (CHRP)
These are men's and women's witness retreats each year sponsored by the parish. Separate weekends for men and for women experience the faith as witnessed by fellow parishioners. This is a good opportunity to take time from your busy schedule and focus on the Lord and his way for you. Retreats are held at the parish at no cost to the participant.
Cursillo
This group has experienced the Cursillo Weekend Retreat. Cursillo literally translates as "the little course." This three day experience deepens and renews the faith of a person. Separate weekends for men and for women experience the faith as witnessed by others. Groups meet occasionally to pray and support their faith.
Faith Sharing Groups
These groups meet to support their faith and each other's faith by regular meetings. The parish also offers a number of less formal Bible reflective groups, meeting in homes, that welcome new members to the group.
Men's Group
This is an informal gathering where men may ask questions and share experiences of their Christian development without the usual constraints of our culture. Besides a regular meeting they offer a weekend men's retreat once a year.
Prayer Network
This is a telephone tree, that informs its members of special intentions for which the members pray as they go about their daily lives. It is a simple and easy ministry, but one that is both necessary and powerful.
Scripture Sharing
This group reads and discusses passages from Scripture, reflecting on the impact of the Word in our daily lives.
