In October 2005, February and November 2006, JoAnne Evans visited Haiti, the Carribean island nation that for so many years has been the victim of war, disease, famine, tyrants and extreme poverty. The following are her thoughts and what she witnessed while visiting one of the poorest countries in the World. JoAnne will be returning to Haiti in February 2007, watch for her updates then.

Patricia and Edward Geiss, who have been long time members of our parish,
have previously worked in the missions of Peru. Now that their
children are all grown, and they have some additional time, they have
returned to the missions of Peru again. This is their third trip in
recent years and they have been kind enough to share some daily
experiences and pictures with us. We cannot all be missionaries who
travel to distant countries, but we can support our missionaries with
our prayers, good works and financial support.
Ed and Pat, who both speak Spanish, are working with poor familes in
the dessert area of Peru.
