Junior High
There are a variety of activities and events for the junior high school students in our area. All junior highers are welcome to attend any event and bring friends. Just note that most events require a permission slip, which can be downloaded from the side bar or here.Regular Events
BULLFROGS stands for Building Up Life: Loyalty, Faithfulness, Respect, Obedience, Gratefulness, Spirituality and meets every other Wednesday from 6-8pm for 7th & 8th graders. We meet in the Youth Room in the Ministry Center to plan junior high events, learn more about our faith, and even play some games. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come and join us. Faith Groups is the Junior High Religious Education program at St. Margaret Mary. 6th, 7th, and 8th graders participate in an active and hands-on classes each year. Classes meet every other Wednesday evening or Saturday morning. 6th graders focus on the Old Testament, 7th graders focus on Catholic Traditions and Life, and 8th graders focus on Peace, Justice, and Morality. Friday Night Socials are held on a Friday night once a month. Come and hang out with friends, have some pizza & pop, and have a great time for $3. A parent/guardian must sign youth in and out. Keep your eyes on the calendar for the next social!
Parents Night Out (PNO) is babysitting provided by our Junior High students for free to allow parents some time for themselves. PNO is usually held once a month on Saturday from 6-9pm in McDonnell Hall. In December we have a PNO with extended hours to allow for some Christmas shopping to get done without the kids.
Sundays at Sunrise is held every 4th Sunday of the month where a group of youth and adults visit the residents at Sunrise Assited Living in Crystal Lake to play games, help with crafts, and just hang around with our elders.
Special Events
Rallies, Retreats, and Conferences are held throughout the year. Contact the Youth Ministry Office for more info about any upcoming opportunities.
Here I Am, Lord Conference (HIAL) is a conference held in St. Charles at St. Patrick's. The conference focuses on vocations awareness and aims to help youth find the vocation that God is calling them to. The 2010 national conference was held on March 4th-7th. World Youth Day will be held in 2011 in Madrid, Spain. We are planning right now for our pilgrimage. We are only allowing youth who will be beginning their freshman year in 2011 to come with, unless your family comes with you. All families are more than welcome to come with. If you are interesting in coming along or just want some more info, please call or stop by the Youth Ministry Office.
Camp WOW is held every year for current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Registration is currently open. Hurry and get your spot. Camp WOW is four fun-filled days you don't want to miss! Camp is June 21st through the 24th.
