DAY #3: 7/13/08 - Auckland, New Zealand
Our third day in Auckland began with mass in the beautiful St. Patrick's Cathedral with Monsignor Bernard Kiely. The mass experience brought a feeling new to the trip of peace, joy and excitement all at once. After mass many of us talked with Monsignor which was truly enjoyable and capped off a great morning; he is truly and fantastic man.

Upon returning from mass we quickly jumped on our motorcoach to the Auckland Museum where we traveled through time looking at the history of Auckland, the geography of the land, and the culture. We capped off a terrific visit by touring and honoring the fallen soldiers honored in the museum, as well as lifting our prayers to our own troops.

The afternoon was highlighted by a ferry boat tour of the city and surrounding, volcano filled area; by the way, most of these volcanoes are not dormant. We viewed the city from a very unique and beautiful perspective where we could enjoy the sights and each others' company, capping off a great day.

Overall, we are beginning to experience the power World Youth Day can bring which is exciting and somewhat nerve-racking at the same time. We are having a great time. Please keep us in your prayers.

Until tomorrow,
